Mark Rivera was born, bread, buttered, toasted and jammed in Brooklyn, New York. When the Beatles were on the Ed Sullivan show, his life changed forever: "The idea of being in a band has never left my soul," said Mark, "no matter how hard I try."

Mark attended the High School of Performing Arts in Manhattan and has been out on the road, or gigging in some dive since 1967.

In fact, Rivera returned from the road, where he was touring with Billy Joel and Elton John, for a brief stint at home and is now back out with Ringo as one of the All-Starrs. Mark has also "had the pleasure to work with" the following: Foreigner, John Lennon, Peter Gabriel ("the recording of the horns on Sledge Hammer was the most fun I ever had with my clothes on"), Simon & Garfunkel, Hall & Oates and Joe Walsh (just to name a few).

Mark plays Yamaha Custom Saxophones exclusively, Hammer, and Ovation Guitars, Toca Percussion, Korg keyboards and he sings as well.

In the company of greatness again, Mark wants to express how proud he is to be a member of the "Ringo Starr All Starr Band" ... this is his fifth tour! ....Mark says "Thank you Richie.... I won't let you down."
